The Uganda women's national football team also known as The Crested Cranes is the national women's football team of Uganda. It is controlled by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations.

History

FUFA President Lawrence Mulindwa addressed this in 2007, saying, "We had a girls' tournament in Luweero earlier this year and top players are going to be assembled into a national team to contest at the inaugural CECAFA Women's Challenge Cup to be held in Zanzibar in October." The tournament though was never played.

The Uganda Women’s National Football Team, often referred to as the "Crested Cranes," represents Uganda in international women's soccer. Established in the early 1990s, the team has made significant strides in promoting women's football in the country and across the region. Known for their resilience, skill, and determination, the Crested Cranes have become a source of pride for Ugandans, showcasing the talent and potential of female athletes.

The team competes in various international tournaments, including the Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) and FIFA Women's World Cup qualifiers. With a blend of experienced players and emerging talents, the Uganda Women’s team is recognized for its dynamic playing style, characterized by strong teamwork, tactical awareness, and a commitment to excellence.

Off the field, the team plays a vital role in advocating for gender equality in sports and inspiring young girls in Uganda to pursue their dreams in football and beyond. The Uganda Women’s National Team continues to strive for success on the global stage, aiming to elevate women's football in Uganda and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
