The Liga Primera de Nicaragua is the top division of football in Nicaragua, organized by the Federación Nicaragüense de Fútbol. It was created in 1933.

The league is played in two parts, the Torneo de Apertura from August through November and Torneo de Clausura from January through May. Each of the regular seasons is followed by a playoff of the top four teams over a two-legged semifinal and subsequent final. The relegation end has the bottom team of the aggregate table dropped as well as the defeated one from the playoff match between the 8th and 9th-place teams.

The Nicaragua Clausura is a premier soccer tournament that showcases the best of Nicaraguan football, typically held annually in the first half of the year. As part of the country's top-tier league system, the Clausura features a competitive format where clubs from across Nicaragua vie for the championship title.

The tournament is known for its passionate fan base, vibrant atmosphere, and intense rivalries, making each match a thrilling experience for players and spectators alike. Teams compete in a round-robin format during the regular season, followed by a knockout stage that culminates in the grand final, where the top two teams battle for glory.

The Clausura not only highlights emerging local talent but also attracts international players, contributing to the growth and popularity of soccer in Nicaragua. With its rich history and commitment to excellence, the Nicaragua Clausura is a celebration of the sport, culture, and community spirit, drawing fans from all walks of life to support their favorite teams and celebrate the beautiful game.
